Hello and thank you for stopping by The Inky Whisk. I am a Public Library collection development professional with a serious addiction to books and advance book galleys. When I am not reading I am cooking, or fussing over fountain pens, or fawning over stationery and inks. Or knitting. No surprises here!
I love talking about books almost as much as I love reading them. I started The Inky Whisk to share some of the great titles I have read lately (and to be a little indulgent about other interests.) I’ll be honest, you won’t see scathing reviews on this blog – I’m not interested in tearing anyone down. If I read it and didn’t like it I just won’t mention it.
I read and review the books that interest me. Some titles I receive as galleys from the publisher through NetGalley and Edelweiss. Some I pick up at professional conferences. I use galleys primarily to help me at my job and, as stated above, I want to share some of the titles I enjoyed. I do not accept books or galleys with the expectation that I will review them, favorably or otherwise.
A Note About Publication Dates
I live in the U.S. so publication dates I cite will (most of the time) be for that title’s release here. A particular book may have been out for a while where you are, but I base the dates I use on the ISBN of the edition I read. That edition is most often a galley for U.S. publication.
